




Kristi E. Moats, 29, of Sherwood, passed away on January 22, 2012, at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio.
She was born on September 8, 1982, the daughter of Dave and Jayne (Miller) Russell in Bryan, Ohio. On September 16, 2006, Kristi married Michael Moats and he survives. She graduated from Bryan High School in 2001, and graduated from Northwest State Community College, Archbold, Ohio, in 2004, where she earned her associate's degree in social work. Kristi served as a customer service representative for Fifth Third Bank. She was an active volunteer in promoting tissue and organ transplant. She loved her involvement with her nieces and nephews. She was also a homemaker.
Other survivors besides her husband include her beloved dogs, Bentley and Oscar; brothers, Michael (Carie) Russell of Clinton, Mich., and Thomas (Christy) Russell of Plain City, Ohio; sister, Jennifer (Brent) Schackow of Auburn, Ind.; her in-laws, William (Susan) Moats of Sherwood, Ohio; and sister-in-law, Lindsay (Jack) Davis of Ashburn, Va.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2012, from 2-8 p.m. and Thursday, January 26, 2012, from 10-11 a.m. at Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 26, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Gary Keisling officiating. Burial will take place in the Sherwood Cemetery, Sherwood, Ohio.
