Bonnie "Ruth" Dockery, 82, Defiance, passed away on January 19, 2012, at the CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center, Defiance, Ohio, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Dungannon, Virginia, on September 21, 1929, the daughter of Ezra and Maggie (Page) Salyer. On September 21, 1946, she married Cline Edward Dockery Sr., who passed away in 1987. Bonnie was a homemaker and worked as a can seamer operator for three years at the Campbell Soup Company in Napoleon. She also enjoyed gardening and flowers.

Bonnie is survived by her son, Charlie (Char) Dockery of Defiance; son, Cline (Elizabeth) Dockery Jr. of Continental; son, Marvin (Karen) Dockery of Nora, Va.; daughter, Merline (Dale) Kosnik of Napoleon; daughter, Joyce (Larry) Plummer, Defiance; daughter, Oline (Bob) Hill of Defiance; daughter, Katherine (Rick) Barb of Burlington, Ky.; brother, Donnie (Gaye) Salyer of Nickelsville, Va.; sister, Dorothy Horne of Nickelsville, Va.; sister, Elsie Greear of Dungannon, Va.; 29 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and special sisters-in law, Edith Hendricks and Peggy LeMaster, both of Defiance.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter, Gay Jenkins; sister, Pauline Dockery; brother, Kenneth Salyer; brother, James Salyer; and brother, Cyle Salyer.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 21, 2012, from 4-8 p.m. at Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio, and then on Monday at the Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Virginia, from 6-8 p.m. with services at 8 p.m. with Rev. Marvin Dockery officiating. Tuesday burial is at 11 a.m. at Salyer's Cemetery. Friends may be received at Fern Salyer's residence in Nickelsville, Va.

Memorials are suggested to CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center.
