Norman G. Kinder Sr., 68, of Defiance, passed away on January 20, 2012, at the St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.

He was born on March 4, 1943, to Arthur and Luella (Moore) Kinder in Defiance. Norman worked at Defiance Precision Products for 33 years, retiring in 2006. He enjoyed recording the weather and also contributed to wildlife. On October 4, 1969, he married Jean ( Cupp) Kinder, who survives in Defiance.

Norman is survived by his wife, Jean Kinder of Defiance; a son, Norman (Kathy) Kinder Jr. of Defiance, a daughter Wendy Kinder of Columbus; two grandchildren; a brother, Thomas (Janice) Kinder of Defiance; and a sister, Nancy (Allen) Killion of Defiance.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James Kinder and Richard Kinder; and a sister, Shirley Ann Kinder.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 23, 2012, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home Inc., Defiance, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 24, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Rick Rufenacht officiating. Burial will take place in the Riverside Cemetery, Defiance.

Memorials are suggested to the Defenders of Wildlife to a charity of the donor's choice.
